I actually read Atomic Habits by James Clear when it first came out. I wrote a post about my first impressions back then, and it’s been on my re-read list ever since. I finally finished it again last week. I’ve rarely read a book that resonated so much with me, and which provided so much obvious, immediately usable advice. In particular, since my crash, the concept of developing better habits has been essential to my recovery.
Zero driver accountability for careless driving, lies, ghosting on damage claims, insulting permanent impairment payments, ridiculous cost-cutting measures, and ineptitude in tracking income replacement payments … literally a comedy of errors and shitty treatment.
On April 14, 2024, I was involved in a severe crash while cycling, resulting in extensive injuries, including multiple strokes and cognitive deficits. Hospitalized for eight weeks, I underwent surgeries that left me immunocompromised and with lasting disabilities.
