I’m moving to more of a weekly summary than daily details with this post. Eventually I’ll get it right. In fact, I missed journaling for a few days, so this post is pretty short.
I started out the week by planning to do my Sunday long run on Monday. I just didn’t have anything in the legs, so cut it short at 8k. Reading remained consistent throughout the week while journaling most assuredly did not (going forward I’ll still write by hand daily and summarize online weekly, but keep details VERY low), and yoga and strength training was about where it’s been for a while. I also had physio on Monday and decided to scale back to once a week while I keep seeing if the decision to strengthen the adductor will pay off or not. Most other things feel pretty good, and the adductor area has been an issue since well before the crash.
I was nursing an annoying foot ache from Tuesday until the weekend, but it wasn’t much and is totally fine now. I kept the dog walks short while it persisted and didn’t run at all, when I had hoped to get about 20k of running in, to make up for my slow start to the month. About the only other noteworthy thing from the past week was a viewing we did on June 25th. It was almost ideal, except for a distinct lack of dog walkability and being surrounded by arterials. We’re not going to be ready to make offers for about two months anyway, so no biggie.
I finally ran again Sunday night, given the foot ache and some digestive distress Sunday during the day. I also have a strange noise on my e-bike that can’t be pinpointed. It is intermittent and never happens when I have had it into the shop. I suspect it may be a bottom bracket issue, but that’s all integrated with the motor on e-bikes so I’m thinking it may be a bigger job that will hopefully be covered by warranty. I still have a couple things to rule out, though.
I was reasonably happy with my continuing work on building better habits, and my activity totals. With the exception of running, the following totals are the best months since the crash. Notably, I’ve mostly stopped drumming, but have yet to make any progress on piano.
- 120 km walking
- 80.7 km running
- 10:20 of yoga
- 450 km cycling
- 9:56 of strength
